Cold stamping is a kind of printing technology. Special glue (ink) is used to adhere the other parts of cold stamped electroplated aluminum except the base layer to the surface of the substrate, so as to achieve the effect of hot stamping.
Cold stamping is named relative to the traditional hot stamping technology. Both hot stamping processes can achieve the printing effect achieved by the hot stamping process, and cold stamping does not require heating during the process, so it is named cold stamping.
Cold stamping printing is referred to as hot stamping. Hot stamping, commonly known as "hot stamping", has a long history in my country. However, the rapid development and widespread application of hot stamping technology have only been in the past ten years. The application range of hot stamping technology is very wide, such as hot stamping of paper products, hot stamping of textiles, hot stamping of decorative materials, hot stamping of plastic products, etc.
Hot stamping is an important means of surface decoration of plastic parts, and it is also a common decoration process for household appliances and consumer electronic products. It is to heat the metal or paint layer on the hot stamping film to the surface of the workpiece to achieve the purpose of decoration or marking by using the heated hot stamping head. The four basic conditions of hot stamping process: hot stamping head includes hot stamping template, heater, and pressure transmission mechanism.
Hot stamping film determines the decorative effects such as color, graphics, etc., and the equipment has film transmission and winding devices. Hot stamping fixture (tire, pad head) includes workbench and transmission device. Hot stamping methods include flat hot stamping and rolling hot stamping. Flat hot stamping includes small arc curved surface, folded surface and inclined surface hot stamping. Its basic forms are "flat hot stamping" and "round hot stamping"; rolling hot stamping includes flat hot stamping, circumferential hot stamping and non-circular surface circumferential hot stamping. Its basic forms are "flat hot stamping round" and "round hot stamping round".
Cold hot stamping printing principle
Cold hot stamping is to use a flexible plate to print UV glue partially or fully on the paper tape, and compound it with the transfer film. After UV light irradiation, the glue is instantly cured. After peeling, the laser layer on the transfer film will be transferred to the paper tape according to the pattern on the printing plate, forming a gorgeous packaging effect. It is called cold hot stamping (cold transfer) because it does not require heating, which is different from traditional hot stamping.
Advantages: Compared with traditional hot stamping technology, cold stamping technology has very obvious advantages, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects. (1) Low plate making cost. Cold stamping does not need to make expensive metal stamping plates like hot stamping, and also avoids the pollution caused to the environment by the stamping plate production process. (2) High stamping precision. Cold stamping has a high resolution (basically reaching the printing resolution), and its expressiveness is excellent whether it is stamping fine dots and lines or achieving hollowing effects. (3) The stamped image area is larger. Hot stamping can generally only be used to stamp trademarks, logos and other small-area images, while the width of cold stamping foil is larger, even comparable to the width of the printing press, so it is more suitable for stamping large-area images. (4) A wider range of applicable substrates. Cold stamping can achieve the transfer of cold stamping foil at room temperature by relying on the action of adhesive and pressure. There is no need to adjust and control the stamping temperature as in hot stamping. It is not only suitable for stamping ordinary substrates such as paper and cardboard, but also for thin film materials that are easily deformed by heat. (5) It is easier to implement stamping first and then printing. In the process of stamping first and then printing, cold stamping has low operating difficulty, high efficiency and low scrap rate. (6) It can achieve online production, faster speed and higher efficiency
