basic introduction
Led ultraviolet (UV) curing technology has been widely used, from furniture to fiber optic cables and optical lenses, and is still expanding into new applications. Screen printing UV ink curing technology has been in the US and Australian markets Absolute advantage, despite its unbalanced development in Europe, but the growth is very fast, UV curing technology will make the screen printing process out of the trough to prosperity.
UVLED ink is an ink that can be cured instantly by ultraviolet radiation. The curing time is less than 1 second, and the common ink needs a high-energy drying device, which is very energy-saving. In addition, UV LED ink contains pigments, acrylic prepolymers and monomers, photosensitizers and other components, so it is called the ideal non-toxic, non-polluting and energy-saving environmentally friendly ink in the packaging field, suitable for paper, cardboard and metal. , glass, aluminum foil, plastic and other packaging substrates.
Types of
The UVLED ink family includes UVLED offset inks, UVLED flexo inks and UVLED screen printing inks.
1, UVLED offset ink
UVLED offset ink has the characteristics of no volatile organic solvent, low pollution, fast curing speed and energy saving. It can be applied to printing of various packaging materials, such as paper, aluminum foil and plastic. Therefore, light offset offset inks have been widely used in the packaging of cigarettes, wine, medicine, beverages and other products.
2, UVLED flexo ink
UVLED flexo inks can be printed on absorbing/non-absorbent substrate surfaces, flat/rough substrate surfaces, and thin/thick substrate surfaces. It has good printability, low cost, energy saving and environmental protection, and has become a member of the new generation of green ink family. UVLED flexo inks have been recognized by customers in many packaging and printing fields, such as flexible packaging, cartons, labels and corrugated boxes.
3, UVLED screen printing ink
UVLED screen printing ink is another environmentally friendly ink design that has been rapidly developed today. It is energy-saving and non-toxic. Suitable for outdoor large-scale advertising printing, cigarette packets, wine boxes and cosmetics and pharmaceutical packaging and other printing. The printed products printed with UVLED screen printing inks have excellent quality and strong stereoscopic effect, and their application range has been extended to the environmental protection packaging printing field of various high-end gift boxes.
4, water-based UVLED ink
The ink is a one-component ultraviolet curing ink, which contains a large amount of water, and the water evaporates after curing, and the ink film becomes thin. After the ink film is cured, the rheology is excellent, the friction is high, the definition is high, and the color is bright. The emergence of water-based UVLED ink not only solves the problem that the early common UVLED ink can not be applied in gravure printing and flexo printing, but also is suitable for screen printing. It is a new environmentally-friendly ink that has both safety and product quality in UVLED ink.
The main features of LED-UV inks are as follows:
When the conventional UV ink is used, the heat-dissipating tube switch lamp needs to be preheated when needed, and ozone is generated, which makes the operator feel comfortable. The LED-UV ink can realize instant switching lamp curing at a wavelength (365nm, 395nm) without ozone, and consumes about a quarter of the power of conventional UV ink.
Advantages of LED-UV inks:
Compared with the UV lamp mode, 1LED requires only 1/4 of its power consumption, which saves energy costs and greatly reduces CO2 emissions.
(2) Since the LED heat is small, the printing of the heat-resistant printing material such as the plastic film and the thermal influence of the printing machine are small, and the printing accuracy can be slightly adjusted, and the paper loss is reduced.
The life of the 3LED light source component is about 12 times that of the UV lamp, the frequency of light source replacement is greatly reduced, and the equipment consumption is reduced.
4LED can be turned on or off instantly, without the preheating and cooling time necessary for UV lamp mode, and the working efficiency is improved.
5 Because the ultraviolet irradiation device and related supporting devices are very compact, it is not necessary to have a large mechanical installation space and pipeline construction in the past, and the setting is simple and easy.
Because the LED-UV light curing system is highly environmentally friendly, the system does not generate ozone during its operation, and no bad gas is discharged. These features eliminate the need for additional odor removal devices and exhaust ducts. , effectively saving plant space.
At the same time, LED-UV printing inks do not contain VOC substances (volatile organic compounds). In the process of drying, the hot air drying and powder spraying in traditional printing are abandoned, which greatly reduces the carbon dioxide emissions and dust threats. Protection and protection of workers' health.
Basic composition of conventional inks
The ink consists of pigments, binders, fillers and adjuvants.
(1) Pigment: 1 Organic pigment: azo pigment, phthalocyanine pigment, nitro pigment, nitroso pigment, and reducing pigment. 2 inorganic pigments: lead chrome yellow, titanium white, iron yellow, milorie blue, carbon black and so on.
(2) Connecting material: also known as varnish. It also has two major categories: 1 oily binders made from dry vegetable oil. 2 synthetic synthetic resin binder.
(3) Filler: Generally, there are aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, barium sulfate and the like.
(4) Adjuvant: 1 Ink oil: No. 0 varnish (the most consistency, the smallest ink flow, commonly known as thick water). 6
No. varnish (smallest consistency, maximum ink flow). 2 Dilution agent: 05-93 (quick-dry type) dilution agent and 915 dilution agent. 3 driers: also known as dry oil. There is No. 402 red dry oil (drying from the surface to the inner oxide film) and No. 8
White dry oil (dry from the inside to the surface). 4 Detacking agent: It is a mixture of wax paste. It is loose and lubricious. It not only reduces the viscosity of the ink, but also reduces the defects such as paper pulling, and does not affect the color and fluidity of the ink.
The difference between ordinary ink and uv ink
Ordinary ink is mainly composed of rosin resin, mineral oil, vegetable oil, pigment, filler, oxidative desiccant, teaching aid, etc., and the drying process is carried out by means of a combination of surface oxide film, inner layer of ink layer and solvent volatilization. A drying process is not sensitive to temperature and has a wide temperature range. At the same time, the daily illumination source has almost no effect on the drying process of ordinary ink, but it is necessary to avoid contact with oxygen for too long in the process of transporting and using ordinary ink.
UV ink is mainly composed of unsaturated resin, prepolymer, photoinitiator, diluent, pigment, filler, auxiliary agent, etc. The curing process is under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, and the photoinitiator absorbs the radiant energy of ultraviolet light and splits. The free radicals are initiated to initiate polymerization and cross-linking grafting of the prepolymer, and solidify into a three-dimensional network polymer in a short time to form a cured film. In this process, the intensity of the ultraviolet light determines the stability of the chemical composition in the UV ink, and therefore, the UV ink needs to be transported in the dark, normal or low temperature environment.
In short: the drying principle of ordinary ink is oxidation, infiltration, solvent evaporation in the ink. These several processes take a long time, and it takes about 20 hours to dry with 90% of the ordinary offset printing ink. The UV ink is a UV-curable solvent-free ink, and the drying principle is the same as that of the UV varnish. The photosensitive material receives the ultraviolet photon to initiate the polymerization photochemical reaction of the prepolymer and the diluent. The reaction time is very short, about 0.1-0.2 S, and a cured ink film layer is formed after the reaction. No volatile or permeable substances during the reaction. It is characterized by quick drying, good gloss and friction resistance, but the price is relatively high.
